Why is my Lumia phone taking up so much system space?

I go into setting and find that System is up to 4.66GB. It just keeps going up as it updates. This doesn't seem right. I've tried deleting apps with no luck. Please help.
Added (1). Microsoft Lumia 640XL
Added (2). Since I can't view the system files because "they make your phone work" I won't be able to see what exactly is causing the issue.
Added (3). System takes up 4.65 GB.
Added (4). Screw it! I'm just going to reset it!
