Will people make fun of me if I don't use a smartphone?

So I watched a video on youtube called "flip phone prank" and people were really rude to a guy having a flipphone. I currently use a small Nokia phone that's really basic but I try to hide it from people with my hand while twlking or keeping it in my pocket.Is it really that bad if I don't have a smartphone? I don't want to use one:/
