Can't send pictures on my phone?

I have a nokia lumia 635. I got it prepaid from amazon and put my own sim card in. Every thing works great, but I cant send pictures or have group messages. Is there a reason why? I had another version of this phone before and it was the same thing. Is it because its prepaid? Is there anyway i can send the pictures and have group messages?
