When will there be a true innovation in mobile devices?

as far as smartphones are concerned, it has mostly been optimization, and not innovation, for the last 4-5 years. Bigger screens, better resolution, better memory and they run smooth and all that, also maybe some interesting apps here and there, but what do you think will be the device that makes using an iphone feel like using a nokia 3310? And when do you think it will arrive?
