How to install and activate Skype on my Nokia Lumia 635?
There's a Skype tile icon on my phone. It was already there when I purchased it.
When I select it, it takes me to a blue screen that says "Welcome to Skype", and "get it now!". When I select "get it now!", I am taken to a black screen with the Terms of Use, etc. Underneath that are two options: "check install" and "share". The only way to proceed is to select one of these options. When I select "check install", I am taken to another screen with a long list of of apps. It says "These downloads have been waiting for more than a week".
The only way to proceed is to select a "retry all" box. When I select it, it shows "pending" on all the apps, then it goes back to the "retry all" screen.
I am stuck in this loop. Is there anyway to solve this stubborn problem, and get this damn Skype to install and work the way it's supposed to without having to jump though hoops? I am annoyed and fed up with this garbage. Why should my Skype installation be contingent upon installing a bunch of useless, unrelated apps?
FYI: In the "check install" screen I mentioned earlier, it says "waiting for Wi-Fi" under the Skype icon. I already activated Wi-Fi on my phone, but even if I didn't, shouldn't I still be able to install Skype over my cell phone's network (Cricket)?
