My laptop freezes when I disconnect my phone?

I have an HP laptop with windows 7 and a nokia phone with windows 8. Whenever I disconnect my phone, my laptop glitches out for about a minute. It freezes, shuffles through open programs, moves my open tabs around, and then goes back to normal. Nothing happens to my phone.

It doesn t do any damage that I can tell (yet), but it s very annoying.

Does anyone know why, or how to make it stop?
